My Story
My Story Hello my name is Amanda; I am a daughter, granddaughter, niece, amazing Aunt and friend. My Scentsy journey starts back in 2010 as a customer, I got my first warmer from a good friend (which I still have to this day) because she knew how much I loved my house to smell good, but she also knew that I had a tendency to leave my candles burning even when I left the house. I also had a cat at that time that had a tendency to get himself into trouble and sometimes he would singe himself on my candles, so perfect solution for me Scentsy warmer! My friend had no idea that with this gift she would change my life! I had never heard of Scentsy and I had no idea where to buy the wax, so when I would go to craft shows and I would see someone selling Scentsy I would buy wax and stock up on it. Fast forward to Christmas 2011, my sister in law had been searching for some way that she could melt down all her extra candle wax so that she didn’t waste it. I thought she would probably love a Scentsy warmer then she wouldn’t have to worry about wasting the wax... So I contacted my friend who bought me my warmer and she put me in contact with the person she got my warmer from who was 2 hours away from me but I thought perfect and ordered my sister in law a warmer! Now here is the start of my Scentsy journey... My sister in law loved Scentsy and by February 2012 she had signed up because she could not find anyone in her community that sold Scentsy... PERFECT! I now had someone I knew who could help me with my Scentsy addiction! Well for a year my friends and I ordered from Melanie every couple of months and it was shipped directly to me as she lives 3 hours away from here. We did this for about a year until Melanie and I talked and it just made sense for me to join her team so that I could get all the benefits that she was getting from my orders... SO I basically became a kit–napper in March 2013 so that I could help my friends and myself out with Scentsy products! So my “why” I joined at that time was to help my friends and I out with our new Scentsy addiction. The start to my journey was great, at that time all I was looking for was to help my friends and I out with wax and warmers if they needed new ones and of course a little extra money for me every month. I didn’t look at Scentsy as my business and that was one of the reasons I love Scentsy; I was able to “work” my business the way I wanted to without any pressure from anyone to SELL, SELL, SELL and I LOVED that! So fast forward to today, I am not really sure when all of a sudden “helping” out my friends became me NOW talking Scentsy whenever I can, carrying catalogues and samples with me everywhere I go and still working my business the way I want to work it. I realized Scentsy wasn’t just wax and warmers to me anymore Scentsy was giving me the freedom to travel with the extra income, get out and meet new people, help others with their own Scentsy journey, but the AMAZING part of this journey is the Scentsy family and friends that I have met along the way. We are all on our own Scentsy journey but we are all part of the Scentsy family that offers amazing support, training and most important sister and brotherhood.
